Having to deal with everyday life (major stress, for sure) and then having our weight on our mind 24-7, eating (instead of dieting) seems to be the only comforting event in any given day, right? So, how do we change our mind about eating too much without enduring even more stress through dieting? I&#8217;m sure there is a pill for this problem just like there is for everything else. But, it just doesn&#8217;t have to be that way anymore. I&#8217;m about to show you how, I, the former forever binge eater, stopped blowing my dieting progress any time life got in the way. Hopefully, this will help you find the starting line for your dieting program. Trust me; it&#8217;s only a matter of doing. You&#8217;ll see what I mean.</p>
<p> If It Is To Be, It&#8217;s Up To Me</p>
<p>I heard a saying years ago that has stuck with me to this day. It&#8217;s this: &#8220;If it is to be, it&#8217;s up to me.&#8221; Man, did that hit home! Just a few words heard at the right time changed my direction forever. Right then (after settling down a little after the sudden realization of what was really happening to me) This realization made me start to focus and concentrate on my goal of <a href="http://www.ucontext.com/cbhop.php/6001/0/e3704247a8dce7613e74c612c91ec69d/losing+weight" target="_blank">losing weight</a>, instead of depending on crazy diets to get me there. My point here is that if you&#8217;re going to lose weight, don&#8217;t just say it and expect it to happen. Instead, just do it and watch what happens. This is what &#8220;it&#8217;s up to me&#8221;…means.</p>
<p>I do realize that what I&#8217;m saying is far easier said than done. <a href="http://www.ucontext.com/cbhop.php/6001/0/e3704247a8dce7613e74c612c91ec69d/losing+weight" target="_blank">Losing weight</a> is not a walk in the park. It takes commitment, time, effort, and commitment. Did I say commitment? During those times when I felt like bagging the whole idea of dieting, I was excited to get back to my old ways. Bingeing and slamming down as many candy bars and cookies as I could. After I was stuffed, a huge amount of regret and, you guessed it, stress, set in. So goes the cycle of yo-yo dieting and &#8220;stress eating&#8221; as I call it. What to do?</p>
<p> Make A List</p>
<p>I decided to try a technique that I read about in an article about handling stress. I forced myself to sit down and make a written list of what I just ate, and most importantly, how much. I couldn&#8217;t believe it! I then tried to determine what it was that caused me to binge. What was I feeling? Did something happen very recently that made me decide to eat so much? The list I made was the beginning of my realization that I was in fact, using excuses to justify my actions. This was very uncomfortable to me because I thought I had good reasons. Turns out I was wrong. After accepting the fact that I was cheating myself, I actually got mad at myself. Sounds silly, I know. It was this emotion that became the motivator to keep me going with this idea of logging my &#8220;events.&#8221; I began to feel more comfortable about losing weight because I felt like I was winning. Or, to put it another way, I felt I was gaining control. If that doesn&#8217;t relieve stress, I don&#8217;t know what will. </p>
<p>Remember…</p>
<p>If it is to be, it&#8217;s up to me!</p>
<p>Commitment to your <a href="http://www.ucontext.com/cbhop.php/6001/0/f199e451353991c2ec5f33c06d97ff81/weight+loss" target="_blank">weight loss</a> goal. Think about it constantly.</p>
<p>Lose the junk food. You and your diet don&#8217;t need it!</p>
<p>Make your list. Force yourself to make this a habit! Get to the truth about yourself and your eating habits. </p>
<p>Make the necessary changes. Take steps you can handle, and that challenge you a little.</p>
<p>Keep going, make it part of your life. It&#8217;s easier to stick to something if it becomes part of your daily routine.</p>

<p>Once you have a clear understanding of what stage of behavior change you are currently in and only then can you begin to set goals. Research has shown that people who set specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, and timely goals see more results and are more likely to stay with a program.</p>

You need to be part of group or, as I like to call it a tribe of like-minded individuals. <p><strong>Step 4</strong></p>

This will get you lungs burning and really test your stamina. Obviously with such an intensive workout the fat will drop of you.</p>

<p>*Don&#8217;t forget you should mix and match all the exercises through the levels above to maintain a constant weight loss and making sure that your body doesn&#8217;t adapt to your training. If your body does adapt to your training it will result in a reduced fat burn, so keep on your toes and vary your routines.</p>
<p>How to use weights in a weight loss routine</p>
<p>A <a href="http://www.ucontext.com/cbhop.php/6001/0/f199e451353991c2ec5f33c06d97ff81/weight+loss" target="_blank">weight loss</a> workout should be treated like circuit training. The biggest problem most people make is that they take too much rest or set the workout out so they perform weights first, cardio after (or other way round). A fat burning session should consist of cardio and weights mixed up. A quick example of this is shown below.</p>

<p>2. Squat (4 x 10)</p>
<p>3. Cross trainer: Intervals (5min)</p>

<p>Every bodybuilder wants that &#8220;six-pack abs&#8221; look.  The &#8220;six-pack&#8221; look is only obtained by a consistent program of healthy diet, cardio training and weight training. </p>
<p>However, deciding which weight training exercises to do for the abdominal muscles is often confusing.  We&#8217;re exposed to various abdominal exercise devices such as ab rollers, ab rockers, and torso tracks.  We&#8217;re told to do hundreds of sit-ups and crunches.   Most gyms have 2-3 different abdominal machines to use to &#8220;hit the abs&#8221;.  Wow!  Everybody is making it much too complicated.  It doesn&#8217;t have to be!  There are <u>only four abdominal exercises that you need</u> for proper abdominal muscle growth and development. </p>
<p>A study performed at the Biomechanics Lab at San Diego State University, 13 different abdominal exercises were studied and ranked for their effectiveness in stimulating the rectus abdominis muscle and external oblique muscles.  </p>
<p>In this study, electromyography (EMG) measurements were taken on the rectus abdominis and external oblique muscles on 30 exercisers who performed the different abdominal exercises.  EMG measures the level of muscular activity or contraction while exercising.  It&#8217;s a reliable indicator of the effectiveness of an exercise. So, let&#8217;s review the top three exercises in each muscle group from this study. </p>
<p><strong>Top Three Rectus Abdominis Exercises </strong> </p>
<p>#1 – Bicycle Maneuver</p>
<p>#2 – Captain&#8217;s Chair Knee Raises</p>
<p>#3 – Crunches on Exercise Ball </p>
<p><strong>Top Three External Oblique Exercises </strong> </p>
<p>#1 – Captain&#8217;s Chair Knee Raises</p>
<p>#2 – Bicycle Maneuver</p>
<p>#3 – Reverse Crunch </p>
<p>As you can see, the Bicycle Maneuver, Captain&#8217;s Chair Knee Raises, Crunches on Exercise Ball and Reverse Crunch are the best and only exercises that you need to perform.  These four exercises are the most effective and offer variety in your abdominal training.  I&#8217;ll describe each exercise for you.<strong> </strong></p>
<p>All abdominal work should be performed using 8 to 20 repetitions.  As you become more conditioned, perform 2-4 sets of 8-20 repetitions.  All repetitions should be performed using a slow and deliberate motion.  No ballistic or quick motions!  Let the abs do all the work. The rest between sets should be 30-60 seconds, no longer. </p>
<p>I&#8217;d suggest using two of the four exercises during each abdominal workout for variety and complete development.  Keep the abdominal muscles guessing by switching the ab exercises each workout.  </p>

I am speaking from experience. The goals of lower back lumbar exercises are as follows.          </p>

<li>Get better control (spinal stabilization) over the movements of the spine during daily activity.</li>

<li>Reduce the likelihood of further <a href="http://www.ucontext.com/cbhop.php/6001/0/f77ee808e7da43d57ef6904ef12dff20/back+injury" target="_blank">back injury</a>. </li>
<li>Strong back muscles provide stabilization and help the spine maintain its correct curvature.  </li>

<p>At this point I should point out the importance of seeing your doctor and identifying the caused of your back pain. The doctor may recommend going to a physical therapist for evaluation and instructions on the right exercises and how to perform them. Most insurance companies will cover physical therapy. These exercises are really easy to do and require minimal equipment.
